A woman was on her way to McDonald's when she received a life-changing phone call. Full-time nanny Lauren Keene said it was "just an ordinary Friday' when she finished work and headed to buy food at a McDonald's drive-thru.

But on route to one of the fast-foot branches, the 24-year-old received a phone call that left her "sceptical" and went home to find out more. It was then that Lauren, from Gloucester, found out she is the youngest Omaze Grand Prize Winner to date, winning the keys to a Hollywood Hills inspired mansion on the Wirral worth over £3 million.

It also features a Fisher and Paykel fridge and a sink fitted with a Quooker tap. The first floor also provides an open plan living and dining space, featuring a show-stopping sunken sofa—ideal for Lauren to entertain family and friends.

The generous main bedroom with en suite is also on the floor, along with three further double bedrooms, an office and a family bathroom. The extensive private gardens have manicured lawns and mature Caldy trees.

The large entertaining terraces, full width balconies, outdoor kitchen and heated swimming pool create an unrivalled outdoor living space. Thurstaston Beach, Heswall and Parkgate salt marshes on the banks of the River Dee are all enjoyable options just a short stroll away.

As well as making Lauren a multimillionaire, the Omaze Million Pound House Draw, on the Wirral and The Great Escape House Draw, Wales, raised £3,500,000 for Scouts. Scouts is the UK’s largest youth movement, inspiring nearly half a million young people to step up, speak up and gain skills for life.

Much of Scouts’ work is in areas of deprivation, with the fewest opportunities for young people. Being part of Scouts helps young people aged 4-24 feel good about themselves, make friends and dream big.

The money raised from the partnership with Omaze will fund Scouts to open new groups in local communities, especially low-income areas, helping young people of every background believe in themselves and find their place in the world. It will also support young people in their early years (in Squirrels Scouts) as they start out on their journey through Scouts.

"These extra resources will help us support the learning and development of our volunteer teams and help us with our plans to support improved teenage mental wellbeing.

"Thank you to every single person who entered the draw that has helped us raise funds for this nation’s young people." The Omaze partnership was backed by TV presenter and Chief Ambassador of World Scouting, Bear Grylls OBE.
